Pine Ogham Birth Spoon (23rd December – Proverbial ‘Year and a Day’)
Pine is the Birthday of the divine child. As a tall tree its lofty position reminds people the importance of taking an overview, encouraging objectivity and farsightedness. Do not dwell on mistakes as you are a spiritual warrior.
I recently had a commission for an engagement ring to combine a Scots Pine and a Silver Birch so this brought me back to remembering my search for the Scots Pine in Nunney. My kids are always collecting pine cones, my pockets are brimming with them. They are amazing if dry which isn’t always the case due to our lovely english weather, but they are perfect for getting a fire going. I also remember an adventure picking apricots in France in my younger days of freedom, where we cooked mussels in Pine Needles. The aroma was fantastic and the mussels well seafood is the way to my heart, well isnt food in general the way to anyones heart…

Brass Spoons created from the Celtic Tree Ogham or Ogham Alphabet using real cuttings from the different Trees. Twigs for the handles with the corresponding leaf underneath the bowl. Powerful spoons returning us to our roots and the Natural world.
The Celtic Tree Ogham was created by the Druids as a secret language around 3rd Century CE. The letters were a series of notches or Runes associated with different trees and the first alphabet known to this country. Oghams were used as divination tools. These were sticks from the different trees with the ogham symbol or Rune inscribed on them and when they were thrown on the ground, studying the symbolism of where they fell was an art form that only a druid could read.
